We have started a petition for Chas and Dave to re-record two massive smash hits of the 1980’s as we feel that the current band names are not appropriate for a United Kingdom that is about to leave the European Union.
Although The Final Countdown and I Want To Know What Love Is are both absolute tunes in their own right, they were performed by Europe and Foreigner respectively, and we believe that these band names should no longer appear alongside these tracks in a country that is once again taking control of its own destiny by freeing itself from the shackles of Brussels.
How can we possibly have the full and clean Brexit that we deserve when we are constantly reminded of these two anti-Brexit terms every time we hear the song on the radio?
Therefore, surely it is time for the Cockney duo Chas and Dave to re-record these songs instead, with the finished tracks being distributed to all applicable media outlets for immediate playlist replacement.
It is already starting to gather signatures, and with enough of your support we intend to deliver a copy of the petition to both Chas and Dave and Prime Minister Theresa May – we believe that she has the authority to make this happen from the very top of government.
The official petition reads as follows:
Two of the most popular 80’s songs in Britain are The Final Countdown and I Want To Know What Love Is, by Europe and Foreigner respectively.
However, with 51.9% of the turnout voting Leave in June 2016, I feel that it is no longer appropriate for these band names to appear alongside these classic tunes.
Therefore, I am calling upon Chas and Dave to re-record them and distribute the tracks to the media for immediate replacement.
Only then will these two songs be appropriate for Brexit Britain.
